Due to the existing travel restrictions and other quarantine procedures, several students from provinces in mainland Mindanao continue to stay within the campus dormitories.

During the Recognition Program today, the school administration distributed financial assistance to said students as they remain within campus while awaiting for the lifting of the inter-provincial travel ban.

Mr. Joseph Angas, Student Council President, spoke in behalf of the students as they received the said assistance. He recounts the tremendous changes brought by the pandemic and all its effects to every person's plans and dreams.

"We are taught in this pandemic that we must appreciate our lives and happiness when we are tested. Above all, it also reveals the best and the worst characters of humanity. To those who are naturally good and with genuine love to their fellowmen, this pandemic became an instrument to help even more. But for those, who are genuinely discontented and are immature, this pandemic became an agent to further reveal their worst character."

"To all graduating students who received academic awards, I would like to congratulate you all for making it to the top despite of the current situation. To all students from the mainland, some of you may not be academic achievers but you are fortunate because you are MSUans. It is not good to compare MSU with other institutions however, I would like to mention a few things. While others went home without bringing anything, MSUans were provided with not only one, but five food packs. Could you just imagine how a dormitorian went home with a sack of rice and assorted grocery items? And now, we mainland students received financial assistance again through the initiative of our dearest mother, Dr. Mary Joyce Guinto-Sali. This only proves how fortunate we are as MSUans. We were never left alone and we will never be for the school administration is exerting its best efforts to let us feel that MSU TCTO is not only an academic institution but also a home with genuine care to its constituents," Mr. Angas said as he ended his message.

Mr. Angas along with other remaining mainland students were present during today's Recognition Program to receive the financial grant. The school administration vows to continue looking for ways to support the students as they continue their stay in campus.
