EXTERNALLY-FUNDED
This is a special scholarship for Fisheries, Marine Biology, Environmental Science and for Badjao students whose objectives are to attract more enrollees to the mandated programs, to increase the number of academically better students taking these programs, to help enhance efforts at gainfully strengthening such programs, and to augment the campus support for the Badjaos who comprise the main indigenous group in this province.
This special scholarship was first funded from the P5,000,000 allocated by the national government for this campus beginning AY 2014-15. Such was reflected in FY 2014 GAA (R.A. 10633).

General Policies On Scholarships And Grants For The MSU Tawi-Tawi Campus

Privileges granted to a select group of students in the campus are generally classified as scholarships or grants. A scholarship refers to privileges obtained on the basis of one’s high score in the MSU System Admission and Scholarship Examination (SASE) (administered annually throughout Mindanao) or very good scholastic performance. A grant, while not disregarding such factors, is based more on other attributes such as special skills or one’s ethnic origin.

A grant, requiring only a minimum level of scholastic proficiency, is based more on other attributes such as special skills or talents, indigent family background, or even one’s ethnic origin.

Digital Learning Transformed: MSU-TCTO Unveils New Laboratory On November 10, 2024, MSU-TCTO inaugurated the Digital Engagement Laboratory on the third floor of IICT, Idanan Anni Hall. This state-of-the-art facility is a core component of the Digital Engagement Platform under the ICT project "Digital Resiliency and Recovery Hub" of the University. This initiative marks a significant step forward in enhancing teaching and learning experiences. By leveraging technology, the Digital Engagement Platform equips faculty and students with: - 📱 Personalized learning experiences - 🤝 Virtual mentorship opportunities - 🌐 Seamless access to online learning platforms - 🎮 Gamified and interactive educational content - 💬 Collaboration tools like chatbots and mobile applications Through this platform, MSU-TCTO aims to create a more immersive, interactive, and intelligent campus environment, ensuring that its faculty and students are well-prepared for the demands of the digital age. MSU Tawi-Tawi Joins IAMSTEM 2024
MSU Tawi-Tawi Joins IAMSTEM 2024 Convening STEM educators and researchers across Asia and Australia, MSU-Tawi-Tawi actively co-hosted and participated in the 7th IAMSTEM International Conference and Annual Meeting on STEM Education, held at MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology, Iligan City, on November 6-7, 2024. Themed *“Reimagining STEM Education in the Digital Transformation Era,”* the event featured talks from global experts and provided a platform for STEM researchers to share groundbreaking studies and foster collaborations among Asian and Australian institutions in the rapidly evolving digital landscape of STEM education. The MSU-Tawi-Tawi delegation, led by Assistant Vice Chancellor for Secondary Education Prof. Jamaluddin S. Sala, included four faculty members and nine student researchers from the Department of Science and Mathematics Education (DSME) under the College of Education. The team presented 12 papers through both oral and poster presentations, earning recognition as an institution with undergraduate researchers as representatives. MSU-TCTO’s participation in this international conference is a vital part of its ongoing internationalization efforts and commitment to improving research productivity. Selected papers from the conference are set to be published in partner journals, further showcasing the university's contributions. With MSU-IIT serving as this year's main host, the conference was collaboratively co-hosted by 14 other prominent institutions, including MSU-TCTO. MSU Law in Tawi-Tawi signs MOU with BAGO, receives library equipment and books from BAGO and SUBATRA
MSU Law in Tawi-Tawi signs MOU with BAGO, receives library equipment and books from BAGO and SUBATRA The College of Law - Tawi-Tawi Extension has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Bangsamoro Attorney General's Office (BAGO) on November 11 at the Sabdani Bulante Hall Conference Room. The MOU establishes a partnership between the two institutions to enhance legal education and the legal profession in Tawi-Tawi. Key areas of collaboration include: - Capacity-building and training programs for aspiring legal professionals and other groups promoting the rule of law and the Bangsamoro cause. - Collaborative research and legal studies focused on Tawi-Tawi and the Bangsamoro region. - Lectures and symposia on relevant legal developments in the Bangsamoro region. - Exchange of academic materials and information to develop the legal profession in Tawi-Tawi and the Bangsamoro region. - Other cooperative efforts to promote justice and the rule of law in the Bangsamoro. Present during the signing were MSU President Atty. Basari Dimakuta Mapupuno, MSU-TCTO Chancellor Dr. Mary Joyce Z. Guinto-Sali, and Presidential Management Staff Director Atty. Rashid Pandi. Representing BAGO were OIC Bangsamoro Attorney General Atty. Mohammad Al-Amin M. Julkipli and Division Chiefs Atty. Fariza Joy P. Bagundang, Atty. Najirah P. Masacal-Moslem, and Atty. Nurwahid Lakim. President Mapupuno and Chancellor Guinto-Sali signed the MOU on behalf of MSU Law, while Attorney General Julkipli and Division Chief Masacal-Moslem signed for BAGO. Both parties reaffirmed their dedication to advancing legal education and uplifting the lives of the Bangsamoro community. As part of the Justice and Society Project under SUBATRA (Suporta sa Bangsamoro Transition), BAGO donated library books and equipment to the MSU Law Library. Honorable Gracita Jacinto-Ali, MSU Board of Regents member, also attended the event to express her support. Assistant Dean Datu Esma Mikee Maruhom extended his gratitude to BAGO for their generous support and highlighted the importance of collaboration for Tawi-Tawi.
