College of Fisheries
To achieve the objectives set by R.A. 6060, the college developed academic programs that are focused on the βeffective exploitation and conservation of fisheries resources
in the Sulu sea and nearby waters.β Researches on fish processing, aquaculture and capture fisheries were proposed and implemented with the goal of helping promote the social
and economic development of the people and their communities.
From the year of its creation, MSU-TCTO has been producing graduates of Bachelor of Science in Fisheries along three fields of specialization such as fish culture, fish
capture and fish processing. The college has also been producing graduates of three-year diploma in fisheries technology along the above mentioned fields of specialization.
Some of the Collegeβs graduates are now holding key positions in both government and non-government institutions Others have ventured into self-employment (business). These are some of its accomplishments, but true to its mandate, the college would like to do more. With support from the administration under the stewardship of Chancellor Mary Joyce Z. Guinto-Sali, Ph.D, the college is gearing up to link with national and international Colleges and Universities via joint programs (academic and research). The collaborative effort is expected to strengthen the partner institutions through sharing of resources and Faculty and student exchange programs.

Kong Gymnasium during the Opening Parade. In her message, Chancellor Mary Joyce Z. Guinto-Sali thanked the significant individuals who have contributed to the growth and success of the University through the years. She also emphasized that as the University enters a new phase, support from stakeholders is very much needed to boost the University's expansion and development plans. One of the celebration's highlights was the vibrant parade of flaglets where each cluster competed. After the short celebration at the HVK Gym, the constituents proceeded to the Campus Field for the parlor games and Salu-salong Pinoy, creating a strong sense of community and joy. The celebration also highlighted the formal launching of the song, "One MSU, ONE PEACE U" written and composed by Altan Ishmael, Mohammadsharif Abdulhamid, and Nelson Dino in June 2023. The song embodies the unity and peace of the Mindanao State University (MSU) system.
