Professor Al-Rashiff Mastul, EdD, a distinguished graduate of the College of Education at MSU - Tawi-Tawi, recently offered his perspectives on the reasons behind his decision to become a faculty member at his alma mater.
“Working at MSU-TCTO has always been a dream of mine since my college days,” he said. “I believe MSU-Tawi-Tawi is an institution that produces quality graduates due to its teaching force, composed of experts in various fields of specialization. I am eager to contribute my expertise in pedagogy and research knowledge to the institution, as a way of expressing my gratitude to the institution that nurtured and molded me into who I am today.”
Prof. Mastul expressed his enthusiasm about being part of the committed team contributing to the growth of the institution under the exceptional leadership of Dr. Mary Joyce Z. Guinto-Sali, whom he described as the best transformational leader that TCTO has ever had.
Prof. Mastul, a Cum Laude graduate of the University in 2005, was a dynamic student leader during his college years, actively participating in a range of academic and extracurricular pursuits. Before becoming part of the faculty at the College of Education, he dedicated over a decade of service as a public school teacher, held a position as a school head for six months, and contributed two years to the Division Office as the Division Adaptive Learning Materials (ALM) Focal.
He earned his Doctor of Education major in Educational Administration (Ed.D) from Western Mindanao State University in Zamboanga City. Additionally, he holds a Master of Arts in Education major in Administration and Supervision (MAED) from the same university, where he was honored with the Academic Distinction Award.
“I am genuinely excited about the prospect of contributing to the vibrant academic community at MSU-Tawi-Tawi,” he said. “I look forward to leveraging my skills and experiences to enhance the educational experience for students and contribute to the institution’s mission of providing quality education.”
As an alumnus who has witnessed the evolution of MSU Tawi-Tawi over the years, Prof. Mastul enthusiastically described the recent improvements he observed with the school.
“Since joining MSU-Tawi-Tawi, I have observed several notable changes that showcase the institution’s commitment to progress and excellence,” he said. “One significant change is the implementation of innovative teaching methodologies, which has enhanced the overall learning experience for students. The emphasis on inclusivity and diversity is also evident, fostering a more dynamic and supportive academic environment.”
He concluded by saying that MSU-Tawi-Tawi is not only adapting to the evolving landscape of higher education but also actively shaping its future as a center of excellence.
