MSU TCTO Conducts “Write to Impact” Workshop to Guide Researchers Toward Scopus-Indexed Publishing
MSU Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography, through the Office of Research, successfully conducted a four-day activity titled “Write to Impact: A Guided Workshop on Scopus-Indexed Publishing” last March 30 to April 2, 2025, at the Marine Science Museum, MSU TCTO, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.
The workshop was designed for faculty members, early-career researchers with publishable data, and graduating students nearing thesis completion who aim to transform their academic work into scholarly publications.
Participants engaged in interactive sessions covering the full publication pipeline—from data analysis using R statistical software led by Dr. Regimar A. Rasid, faculty member from the College of Arts and Sciences, to manuscript drafting following the IMRAD format, discussed by Ms. Ahalnida M. Tambihasan from the Institute of Oceanography and Environmental Science.
Asst. Prof. Albaris B. Tahiluddin, an experienced and published researcher from the College of Fisheries, served as one of the mentors during the workshop, providing personalized guidance and feedback tailored to each participant's field of expertise. In addition to Asst. Prof. Tahiluddin, Prof. Richard N. Muallil, Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension Services, also served as a mentor and guided the participants throughout the sessions.
The workshop concluded with a target output of seventeen (17) studies, which will undergo further refinement to become suitable for publication in Scopus-indexed journals.
