Tambuli Celebrates its Golden Anniversary
In celebration of the 50th Founding Anniversary, in conjunction with MSU-TCTO Emerald Year, the Tambuli Cultural Dance Troupe of the Cultural Affairs Office hosted its Tambuli Night: Langan Addat Kabiyaksahan on May 4 at the Henry V. Kong Gymnasium.
Esteemed "igal" master and recipient of the Gawad Manlilikha ng Bayan from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) , Hja. Sakinur-Ain M. Delasas, was present and delivered an inspiring message on her remarkable work and experience in the cultural preservation of igal. Delasas is a pioneering member of the Tambuli and has served its Artistic Director. She was honored by the university with the "Gintong Dolphin Lifetime Achievement Award".
Present during the night was Chancellor Mary Joyce Z. Guinto-Sali who delivered her message and congratulated the Tambulil Cultural Dance Troupe for their exceptional achievements and talents.
“There are many reasons to celebrate successes. But in Tambuli's case, we are celebrating its lifelong impact - in preserving our heritage and in molding individuals to become responsible and proud bearers of tradition.”
Director Nelson Dino of the Cultural Affairs Office extended his heartfelt gratitude to the University for its unwavering support. The event was also attended by the alumni of the Tambuli Cultural Dance Troupe.
One of the highlights of the glamorous night was the launching of the creative process behind the Tambuli Coffee Table Book - a visual chronicle that captures the essence, journey, and evolution of the Tambuli Cultural Dance Troupe.
The rhythm and grace of this Tambuli Night: Langan Addat Kabiyaksahan reminds us of the power of unity, diversity, and the enduring spirit of creativity resonating within the island community.
