The Mindanao State University College of Law - Tawi-Tawi Extension and the MSU-TCTO Gender and Development Office proudly bring you the 2nd Sheikh Karim'ul Makhdum Learning Sessions.
This semester's Makhdum Session highlights the celebration of National Women's Month. It will be held on 19 March 2025 at the Maas Kamlon Hall from 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM.
The session will feature Atty. Mohamad Rayyan Domado, who will discuss gender and women's rights under P.D. 1083 in his lecture, "Exploring Gender and Society through the Lens of the Code of Muslim Personal Laws." Meanwhile, Assoc. Prof. Almira Amilbangsa-Hadji will share inspiring stories of Muslim women in her talk, "Honoring Women in Islam: Stories of Courage, Faith, and Leadership."
This activity is made possible through the support of the Bangsamoro Attorney General's Office (BAGO) and Rex Education – Zamboanga.
The Makhdum Sessions is a regular initiative of the College of Law, dedicated to promoting Shariah law and Islamic principles among students. It is named after Sheikh Karim'ul Makhdum, the Arab missionary who introduced Islam to the southern islands of the Philippines and established the country’s first masjid in Simunul, Tawi-Tawi.
For those interested in joining, please send us a message or visit the College of Law (Indanan Anni Hall) or the Gender and Development Office (Manuel S. Lam Hall).
